Shipping, Returns & Exchanges

1. Delivery Area

We deliver within a 13‑mile radius of our site at Langton Greenhouse & Garden Centre, LE16 7TG. Orders outside this zone will not be accepted for local delivery under this policy.

2. Delivery Charge

A standard delivery fee starts from £9.99 and applies to orders under £200 (excluding VAT and any additional charges).

Free delivery is offered for orders at or above £200 applying to our outdoor, plants and compost & aggregate products (excluding VAT).

3. Delivery Schedule

We provide local deliveries every Saturday.

Orders received by midday the day before a given delivery day will be scheduled for the next available delivery, subject to availability. Orders received later will be booked onto the following delivery date.

4. Time Notifications

On the delivery day, we will call approximately 30 minutes before arrival to let you know we are en route.

5. Kerbside Delivery Only

Deliveries are made to the kerbside only, unless by prior arrangement. We do not carry items indoors or into gardens.

6. Order Changes & Cancellations

Any changes or cancellations must be made by 1 pm the day before the scheduled delivery.

After that time (or on the delivery day), we reserve the right to charge the full delivery fee (£9.95), unless exceptional circumstances apply.

7. Unattended Deliveries

If you are not available at the time of delivery:

  • We may leave items at the kerbside at your risk, or
  • Return the goods to the garden centre and attempt delivery on the next available date, possibly incurring an additional delivery charge.
8. Damaged or Incorrect Items

Upon delivery, please inspect your items before signing.

If there is any damage or incorrect goods delivered, please notify us within 24 hours. We will arrange a suitable resolution (replacement or refund).

Please note that if an item is not damaged or incorrect, it is subject to our normal returns policy, and the physical return of the goods is the customer's responsibility.

9. Liability

We accept liability only for items once they are signed for at kerbside.

We are not responsible for items once they have been delivered to kerbside, unless there is clear evidence of damage arising during transit.

10. Terms of Use

By placing a delivery order, you agree to abide by these terms.

We reserve the right to amend these terms at any time; any changes will apply to orders placed after the date of amendment.

HOW YOU START

  1. Before opening, shake the planter to loosen the compost and ensure an even depth
  2. Choose a suitable spot with plenty of light. Big Tom Tomato Planter is ideal for greenhouses, patios, conservatories and even roof top plantings
  3. Cut around the dotted lines on the front of the planter to make three holes
  4. Make a hole in the compost sufficient for the root ball of the plant and firm in the compost around the plant
  5. Water the planter and ensure the compost is moist

NOW START GROWING

  1. Keep compost moist. Water every day in hot weather to prevent drying out
  2. If necessary, cut some holes in the bottom of the planter to avoid water logging
  3. Use Big Tom Super Tomato Food when the first flower truss appears and re-feed every 2-3 waterings
