Langton Greenhouse and Garden Centre is expanding...

We at Langton Greenhouse and Garden Centre are proud to announce that we are expanding. Our team has always been keen to provide the very best that the planting world has to offer and to ensure we can continue to achieve this we have decided to extend out of the back of our Garden Centre. Our Garden Centre manager Cory has sat down with us this week, giving us the opportunity to ask him all about the plans in store for this exciting new chapter for us.

Below is a transcribed copy of Cory's interview. Enjoy!

I: What inspired this project?

C: I suppose the main motivation is the fact that we are growing as a garden centre and have more customers and we need more space for stock. The desire is to be the best plant centre in the area.

I: Have you not been able to stock other products until now?

C: With limited space, we have to think about what we carry in stock sometimes. More space enables us to carry bigger and better ranges throughout the year.

I: How long has this project been underway?

C: We’ve actually been discussing it since I first started here, but construction started about six or eight weeks ago when they first started putting the tunnel together.

I: Was there a lot of planning involved for you?

C: The planning starts now, as to where things will go and all.

I: What do you aim to achieve by expanding this area? What couldn’t you achieve before without the space?

C: It gives us a lot more scope for a much wider range of plants. We can stock more specimen plants, larger ones for example. Semi mature trees we will be able to carry a lot more too, but also we can create more exciting displays.

I: Will the space be exclusively for plants?

C: No, we will use the space also for associated products like obelisks, climbing plants. Trellis as well, propagations. We can give more space to pots as well.

I: When do you expect the final result?

C: We don’t have a time scale. There’s going to be further development down the line, so only time will tell.

I: What do you look forward to the most with this area?

C: The fact that we can extend and expand our range of plants, something we are strong on already. Hopefully, this will make us even stronger and better locally. Every range of plants will get better I think with this development.

I: Thank you for your time.
